In Chile the northern desert is divided into two parts, the Norte Grande
(Great North) and the Norte Chico (Little North). The Norte Grande is the part of
the country between Antofagasta and Arica, the Atacama Desert, where there are areas
where it hasn´t rained in more than 300 years.
