WARNING: These are very large files, so be prepared to do some waiting while they download.
I'm investigating ways to speed up the downloading process, so have patience.
On my second-to-last day, my parents tracked me down on the river. At the time my dad took this footage I didn't know I was being filmed. I had pulled up on the opposite shore (probably almost a mile away from him) and had gotten out to stretch my legs. When I walked back away from the river I found a large lake/bayou filled with birds. They immediately took to the air and Dad caught their flight with his video camera.

Just downstream from where I encountered all of the birds, my dad was taping my progress near the opposite (eastern) shore when a big ocean-going ship passed between us. This file is the largest (14.5Mb) so it will take quite a long time to download, but the result is pretty impressive.
This clip shows me arriving at the dock at Venice, Louisiana, where the River Road ends. My parents were waiting for me there and helped me prepare for the last harrowing 10 miles to Mile 0. Because the road doesn't go any farther down, I had to paddle down to Mile 0 and then come back upstream to Venice. My father had rigged up a bracket which attached to the canoe and allowed me to use a little gas motor to come back upstream.

This short clip shows me pushing off from the Venice dock to begin the last leg of my journey.
(4.3Mb)
Here I am returning to the Venice dock, with my arms raised in a V-for-Victory salute, to celebrate the completion of the voyage.
