The Many Americas

Too often, the Word America is used to refer to only the United States,
but the fact is that, when we include North and South America and Central America and the Caribbean, there
are more than 50 countries or independent territories.
But we would do well to take to heart Chief
Seattle's words above, and honor the earth that underlies the artificial borders we humans have drawn on her
surface.
